New fabric line
We just brought out a cute new fabric line by Wilmington Prints called Jingle Bell Snowmen. We made up a throw-quilt from all of the browns, creams and blue prints in this line. Although, you can use the snowmen prints for a more seasonal look. If you go to www.wilmingtonprints.com you can get the free pattern and see what else you can make up out of this line. It's adorable!

Special Event
Can you guess who is on his way to our store??
Hanspeter Ueltschi, the owner of BERNINA! And you can meet him for yourself! Mr. Ueltschi took over the reins of this International Company from his mother in 1988 and runs the company to this day as owner and chairman of the board of directors. He ushered the computer age into the sewing industry and has ensured the continuous development of that technology in the world of sewing. Hanspeter Ueltschi is highly conscious of the Swiss tradition of the company and the associated quality of BERNINA, which led him to incorporate the flag of Switzerland into the company logo. Ann Arbor Sewing Center began its association with BERNINA in 1983 and continues today to showcase and service the wide range of BERNINA Sewing Machines and Sergers, up to and including the New 830, which is considered to be the world’s most innovative sewing and embroidery system for home users. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear Mr. Ueltschi speak and get your BERNINA (or BERNINA’S) Autographed!
Along with Mr. Ueltschi, you will also be able to meet four "sewing celebrities!" They are, Kaye England, Pat Holly, Sue Nickels, and Sue Holdaway-Heys. Kaye England will demonstrate how to piece with precision and show unique ways to use your sewing machine. Her down-home style and wit along with her vast knowledge of quilting and sewing will entertain and educate you. Pat Holly will share how she uses the decorative stitches on her sewing machine to create an embellished background to go with her stellar blanket stitched raw edge applique. Sue Nickels will show how she successfully free motion quilts the beautiful feather design showcased on her quilts. She will talk about the basic skills she uses to achieve smooth and consistent stitching for free-motion quilting using both the traditional darning foot and the BSR. Sue Holdaway-Heys will share expertise on creating her landscape and floral art quilts. She will elaborate on complementary designs and textures that will add excitement to your quilt.

We had to post this blooper picture of Rick and Kris. This was taken when we were taking a serious picture for the website. We thought it was too funny not to use. :-)
